Opening the innings for Netherlands were Stephan Myburgh and Max ODwod. The pair got off to a slow start by securing their wickets in the first powerplay scoring 34 runs for no loss. Ireland struck twice in the 14th over reducing Ireland 44/2. The Dutch side kept losing wickets in the middle over no batsman in the team could cross 40 runs. Netherlands ended at 157/10 in 49.2 overs. This was possible with excellent and disciplined bowling by the Irish Bowlers. Craig Young and Joshua Little scalping 4 wickets each. Max ODwod was the highest run-scorer for Netherlands scoring 36.
Opening the batting for Ireland were William Porterfield and Paul Stirling. Ireland also got off to a slowish start like the Netherlands. They managed to score just 38 runs in the first 10 overs losing one wicket of experienced Porterfield. Paul Stirling and Captain Andrew Balbirnie stuck together in the middle and built a good partnership. Stirling was dismissed after scoring a well-deserved half-century. Andrew continued with his fluent batting and also crossed the half-century mark. They completed the match with 7 overs remaining. Ireland completed 158/2 in 43 overs.
