Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the most consistent team in the IPL. Since their title-winning season in 2016, SRH has qualified for every knockout stage.
This season seems a bit different as they’ve had their worst start to a campaign in 2021. SRH had a disastrous start to the season winning only one out of their six games. The road for them is going to be a difficult one.
They have to win six out of their 7 games to even have a chance of getting into the playoffs. SRH is stranded in the last position also decided to change their captain midway.
David Warner: Do SRH Stick or Twist?
David Warner was not only removed from captaincy but also dropped from the playing XI due to his torrid times with the bat in the first phase. Scoring only 180 runs in 6 games with a strike rate of 110, comparing that to his 2020 strike rate which was 143.
It is not certain if David Warner will be dropped or not but SRH being led by Kane Williamson have to unleash their A-game from the start as there’s no room for mistakes.
Their season commences on the 22nd of September vs Delhi.
Consistent SRH squad filled with international superstars
Ruling SRH out completely would be a big mistake by the rest of the teams. SRH has a strong, close-knit unit and has been performing regularly for the past 5 years.
They have world-class batsmen in their squad with the likes of Bairstow, Jason Roy, and Williamson making up the top 3, arguably one of the strongest in the tournament.
The team is known for defending low totals and the bowling unit is spearheaded by T20 specialist Rashid Khan and India’s Mr. Reliable Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
