The remaining games of IPL 2021 are all set to be played from September 19 to October 15 in UAE later this year. Here is the 5 Overseas Cricketers who might make their IPL debut soon
Though it is the world’s leading T20 league , but this time it’s looking like that many cricket boards aren’t willing to allow their players to participate in this tournament due to multiple reasons like injury concern and the bilateral series which are planned much before . Though an official announcement on this subject will be made soon many foreign players are looking set to miss the UAE leg .
And to compensate for the loss of their players, BCCI is likely to bring a system to replace the unavailable players. Here are 5 of those players who might get a chance to make their IPL Debut in the UAE leg as the replacement players
1. Rassie Van Der Dussen (one of the Overseas Cricketers in IPL):-
In recent years, the stature of Rassie Van Der Dussen in International Cricket has grown by many times. But still, he is devoid of an IPL contract. Though earlier this year, he was called in by Rajasthan Royals to replace their star all-rounder Ben Stokes he didn’t get to play any game. Now with many international biggies set to miss the UAE leg, he may be called again by any team as a replacement player. His T20 stats are also praiseworthy as he has scored close to 4000 Runs in this format with a healthy strike rate of 131.3
2. Blessing Muzarabani:-
With an economy of 8.57 in T20I Cricket , you would ask what special does he possess that he is in line for an IPL Debut ? The answer is the correction he has done with his line and lengths which has made him the premier pacer in Zimbabwe right now . Though sometimes he can be expensive with the ball but considering the fact that he bowls half of his overs in death overs , he can be a good swap if any team shows interest in him.
3. Wanindu Hasaranga:-
Sri Lankan Cricket’s latest sensation, Wanindu Hasaranga is a utility player at its best. Other than being wicket-taking as a bowler, he is also street smart as a batsman. And if he fails to take any wicket, then trust him for being economical which he mostly is. Hasaranga is also set to play the CPL just before the UAE leg commences and if things go in his favour, then he will be boarding the flight to UAE instead of Sri Lanka.
4. Kushal Bhurtel:-
This Nepal lad impressed the whole cricketing fraternity in his very first international series . He opened the innings and scored four 50 in 5 innings with a strike rate of over 140 . Though , these runs were scored against Netherlands , but if any team will be needing a talented opener then his name can come on the table , obviously along with many known names who have already debuted in IPL.
5. Dwaine Pretorius (Overseas Cricketers in IPL):-
This tall guy has been involved in many T20 leagues around the world. And he has also done well in his short international career. He is a complete package as a T20 cricketer as he is more than a useful power hitter with the knack of picking crucial wickets also under his armour. He can be a great pick for any unavailable bowling all-rounder.
This list included only those cricketers who are yet to play in IPL and are available for the UAE leg.
