Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals IPL 2022 Highlights: Yashasvi Jaiswal led Rajasthan Royals to victory by scoring a half century on return to the playing eleven after Yuzvendra Chahal starred once again with the ball by taking three wickets.
PBKS vs RR, Match Review:
Rajasthan Royals came out all guns blazing with young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the way. Jos Buttler smashed 20 runs in the in the fourth over alone before falling off the last ball of that same over.
RR captain Sanju Samson came in and continued on the same vein with Jaiswal also ensuring that the team goes about the chase while maintaining a run rate of close to 10. While Samson fell on 23 off 12 balls, Jaiswal went on to score a half century. He eventually fell to Arshdeep Singh but Shimron Hetmyer then used the platform built by the previous batters to help RR to a six-wicket win. Earlier, Punjab Kings smashed 67 runs in the last five overs, largely thanks to Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone to post a total of 189/5. The partnership between Livingstone and Jitesh was worth 50 runs and it came in just 26 balls. It helped PBKS build on the base that was built for them by Jonny Bairstow, who scored his first half century of the season.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant knock of 68 off 41 balls!
The openers got them off to a flier before Jos Buttler fell. Sanju Samson also followed soon but Yashasvi Jaiswal played brilliantly. He and Devdutt Padikkal put up a really good stand which would have settled the nerves after the fall of Samson. Padikkal was happy to play second fiddle whereas Jaiswal took the attack to the bowlers. He scored a fine half ton but his wicket gave Punjab hope. However, Shimron Hetmyer and Padikkal played sensibly and took their side over the line nicely. A well-calculated chase.
