Gujarat Titans vs Punjab Kings IPL 2022 Highlights: Kagiso Rabada, Shikhar Dhawan and Liam Livingstone help Punjab Kings beat Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets Follow Live Score and updates of match number 48 – GT vs PBKS – from DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
PBKS vs GT, Match Review:
The wait begins for Gujarat Titans. They were a win away from becoming the first team in IPL 2022 to make the playoffs, but Punjab Kings have snapped their winning run to script a eight-wicket victory.
Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa revived PBKS after the quick early blow, but the former’s go-slow approach in the middle overs left the match in balance. However, Livingstone had other plans as he smashed Shami for 28 runs in the 16th over to wrap up the chase.
Nothing went right for Gujarat Titans after they opted to bat first in Navi Mumbai. The openers managed to get off to a brisk start before a horrible judgement left Shubman Gill run-out.
Wriddhiman Saha continued the charge, but fell a few overs later and from there Gujarat never managed to recover. They went with a boundary for as many as 48 balls before Tewatia broke the streak. Gujarat had their hopes pinned on the Ice Man, but he too failed to deliver, but the unheralded Sai Sudarshan made a hard-fought 64* amid Kagiso Rabada’s second consecutive four-wicket haul which included the dismissals of Tewatia and Rashid Khan off successive balls.
Gujarat finished with 143 for eight. Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya went against the tide and opted to bat first after winning the toss, sending Punjab Kings to bowl first. Both sides have remained unchanged for the contest.
