England Tour of India – 2nd Test starting on 13th February 2021

After a stunning victory for England by 227 runs over India in the first test match. It was altogether a dominating performance from England’s side. Captain Joe Root played a massive role in the first innings for England by scoring 218 runs off 377 balls along with Dom Sibley who scored 87 runs off 286 balls and Ben Stokes who managed to put up 82 runs off 118 balls. England had 578 runs total onboard by the end of the first innings.

Indian Bowlers were struggling with their excessive No-Balls throughout the first innings, the total of extras given by India were 45 runs out of which 20 were No-Balls, 17 Leg byes, 7 Byes, and 1 Wide.

1st Innings concluded :

India came out to bat and by the end was able to put 337 runs on board with Cheteshwar Pujara scoring 73 runs off 143 balls with Rishabh Pant scoring 91 off 88 balls and a stunning performance from Washington Sundar with 85 runs off 138 balls, not out. 

England came out to bat in their 2nd innings and was able to put up a score of 178 runs in total, which gave India a massive target of 419 runs to win the test. The Indian and England Bowlers came out on top with their respective performances on the 4th and 5th day of the test.

The stage is set for the next test match in Chennai. Can team India equalize the scoreline by the end of 2nd test? Both the teams want to qualify for the World Test Championship. It’s gonna be a battle between the big giants. Let’s wait for the playing 11 for both teams.
