The 5 match T20 series between West Indies and Australia is 3 matches down and the Windies lead the series by 3-0. West Indies has already won the series with 2 matches still remaining in the series. Even though they are playing at their home, they will gain a lot of confidence from this series. The conditions in West Indies are somewhat like the conditions in the U.A.E where the world cup is set to take place. West Indies has played smart cricket and dominated Australia so far in the series.
Windies Play the Unorthodox Game
West Indies has not gone with a fixed batting line up and has send different batsman to face the conditions. Ever move has worked in favour for them as whoever has gone up the order has played a useful knock. With 2 matches left in the series West Indies will new try new combinations.
West Indies should try Chris Gayle at the top of the order even though he has had 1 good innings on number 3. If the Universe Boss opens the innings for them, windes will have a left-right combination at the top of the order. Gayle has opened the innings where ever he has batted and has owned the positions. If you have a player like Chris Gayle in your team, there is no way you don’t open with him as he is an impact player.
When a player with such impact opens the innings, he can win you games alone on his day. Even Andre Russell has had just 1 good innings in the series coming down the order. He can also be send up the order to get more came time as he hasn’t batted much.
Australia Down but not Out, yet
There is still a lot left in the series for the Australians even though they cannot win the series now. Australia has tried a few players in their middle order and only Mitchell Marsh has left an impact. Australia needs to bounce back in the series if they want to escape an embarrassing whitewash in the T20I.
Australia’s bowling has also not impressed a lot with Mitchell Strac taking just 1 wicket in the series so far. Andrew Tye who is known for his slower ones should get into the mix as his bowling style will help Australia. AJ Tye is a bowler who could stop the run flow. Andrew Tye’s performance could strengthen the aussie bowling and even help them in the WT20 later this year.
