SRI LANKA Vs SOUTH AFRICA – 2ND ODI PREVIEW. SA TOUR OF SL 2021

The depleted South-African team has lost the 1st ODI against the hosts. Sri Lanka secured 14 runs win over the Proteas in the series opener on Thursday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. They will be looking to seal the series with one game to spare. The 2nd ODI will take place on Saturday. The Proteas are led by frontline spinner Keshav Maharaj, who has just featured in only 12 matches for South Africa in ODI’s.

The Proteas will look to make a comeback in the second match, after a good batting performances. But the team is struggling with their key bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, who went for expensive figures. Eventhough, the spinners had a good day in the field as the pitch assist spinners.

1ST ODI REVIEW :

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka posted a big total of 300/9 wickets, the main highlight of Sri Lanka’s batting was Avishka Fernando’s 118 off 115 balls. His innings gave the platform to Aslanka to score a supporting half-century. The Sri Lankan bowlers came through under pressure and played like a team. As the spinners bowled pretty good on the track and pulled the game back in last 10 overs. Aiden Markaram is in fine form after his innings of 96 runs with Rassie Van der Dussen’s 59, the team was in the front foot but couldn’t finish the game on a high.

2ND ODI PREVIEW :

DEPLETED PROTEAS :

Missing Bavuma will be big blow for the side as he was one of the most experienced player in the line-up. With Temba Bavuma out, opener Reeza Hendricks looks set to slot in at No. 3. George Linde should make his ODI debut in place of Andile Phehlukwayo.
