Pitch Report :

The pitch was covered on Thursday due to rain, which prevented both teams from practising, but they got a good look at it on Wednesday, and it appeared flat and ideal for hitting. The surface is also unlikely to break up due to the cooler weather in Rawalpindi. Fast bowlers have been particularly successful in the previous three Tests played here since 2019. The weather forecast is favourable for the first day, but rain may be a factor later in the game. All tickets for the First Test between Pakistan And Australia At Rawalpindi is already sold out.

Probable XI’s :

Australia :

Captain, Pat Cummins, spinner Nathan Lyon and Coach Andrew McDonald have given indications that Australia will be going most likely with their three best pacers and the specialist spinner ahead of the first test. There were speculations as well with Josh Hazlewood not making in the Playing XI for the first test with Scott Boland’s tremendous summer record in the Ashes and conditions.

However, the playing XI has not been decided till now as the team is looking to assess the pitch and conditions overnight. Another million-dollar question is who will open with David Warner; will it be Usman Khawaja who opened for Australia in the final test of the Ashes or will it be Marcus Harris, who is struggling to find the form and push Khawaja either out of the XI or at no.5.

David Warner,

Marnus Labuschagne,

Steven Smith,

Pakistan :

Pakistan team will be looking to add more pace battery in their playing XI after the news of Harris Rauf being Covid positive, leading him to be out of the 1st test. There is a lot for Pakistan to think about. In the absence of Abid Ali, one of Shan Masood or Imam-ul-Haq will be the first to play with Abdullah Shafique. The lack of Ashraf throws the game off, and the rain on Thursday has them debating whether to bring in an extra bowler or batsman. Mohammad Wasim Jr. might make his Test debut if they choose the former option.
