Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced their squad for the upcoming T20 world Cup in Australia next Month. Senior T20 player Mahmud Ullah has been axed from the selection reportedly owing to his poor form in recent times.
The term ‘Turmoil’ perfectly describes the phase of the Bangladeshi Cricket Team in current times, after thrashing defeat to Zimbabwe in the Bilateral ODI series in August, the team has faced a heavy backlash from ex-cricketers and experts from all around the world as well from its own countrymen.
Many changes were made in the team for the Asia Cup with the hopes that it might change their luck however, the newly appointed captain Shakib-al-Hasan along with his team could not even qualify for the super 4 round in the tournament.
In the current scenario, Bangladesh winning the T20 world cup seems like a far-fetched thought but their fans and supporters will not lose hope.
Veteran player Mushfiqur Rahim announced retirement after the Asia Cup whose seniority and experience might be missed by the team in a big tournament.
Players like Mahedi Hasan, Parvez Hossain, Anamul Haq, and Mohammad Naim who were a part of the team in the Asia Cup have been neglected in selections for the world cup while Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Hasan Mahmud, Nurul Hasan, and Nazmul Hossain have found their place in the final squad of 15.
Often known as the tigers, the Bangladesh Cricket team will try their best to gain some momentum initially in the world cup by playing against the runner-up of Group A of qualifiers.
