- India lost the first Test against Australia by 8 wickets to go 1-0 down in the 4-match series
- Indian batsmen disappointed as none of them managed to reach the double-figure mark in the second innings
- Ahead of the second Test, Gautam Gambhir has suggested four changes in the playing XI
India endured a substantial drubbed at Adelaide, registering their lowest test score of 36.
Here are some reactions as the teams gear up for the Boxing Day Test.
India has to believe that they can come back in the remainder of the Test series. If India doesn’t find the positivity, their 4-0 series loss can happen. But if they have positivity, why not? It can happen (Comeback).
With Kholi gone, there’s almost no-one to pick them back up after a loss like that. There could be a decent possibility of a scope. Let’s hope we do get a result in Melbourn, and if we do. I think India is going to find it hard to bounce back.
The BCCI must rush Dravid to Australia to help the team. Nobody can manage the batsmen better on the best way to play the moving ball in those conditions. His presence will be a huge boost to the India Team in the nets.
It’s significant for any semblance of Shastri and Rahane, who is currently the commander, to get around the gathering and kick in a positive temper. They can skip back. These folks are altogether quality players, they have done the business before.
AUS vs IND 2nd Test: Changes for Boxing Day Test
Gautam Gambhir names 4 changes India should make in the Boxing Day Test against Australia
I will need to see Shubman Gill at the top alongside Mayank Agarwal and Pujara at No.3. I will want to see Rahane at No.4, Kl Rahul should play at No.5. and Rishabh Pant should play at No.6. Jadeja and Ashwin should play at No.7 and No.8 and afterward three seamers. – Gautam Gambhir.
India will look at making two changes. Firstly, maybe KL Rahul should replace Prithivi Shaw as an opener at No.5 or No.6. Shubhman Gill should come in. His form has been good. Things can change if we start well.
They’ve got to make a couple of changes. Rishabh Pant must be in that center request. With Kholi not being there they’ve got to strengthen their batting, He’s got to come in.
