Ferguson have played fourteen domestic seasons for his country. He have also been a part of Indian premiere league for two seasons, representing Pune warriors. He was recorded with the top score of 113(not out) runs at BBL 2019. Ferguson announced his retirement from first class cricket during 2020-21 Sheffield shield season.

Ferguson have failed a lot in starting a solid innings at his early period of ODI’s. But then 2008-09 was his breakout season. After the breakthrough session, within few matches he gained the reputation as middle order stabilizer. Callum scored a lot of centuries. He was a person who grabbed each and every opportunity and performed well.
Ferguson was part of Australia’s 2009 ICC champions’ trophy -winning squad in South Africa, for him it was the biggest pride. Ferguson made his first-class return from his injury in the 2010–11 Sheffield Shield season with a century in Brisbane. He signed for Indian premiere league in 2011.
Coming across a lot of hurdles, injuries, success and failures. He made his debut for Worcestershire (Worcestershire Rapids) in May 2018 in the Royal London Cup 50 over competition. In the opening game of BBL|09 against Brisbane Heat, Ferguson was man of the match.
