India vs England | Mayank Agarwal Ruled Out of First Test Against England

Mayank Agarwal has been ruled out of the first test match due to a concussion. He was hit on the helmet by Mohammad Siraj during training on Monday for the India vs England Test Series.

“Opening batsman Mayank Agarwal was hit on the helmet while batting during India’s nets session at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Monday,The BCCI Medical Team assessed him, and a concussion test was conducted. He has shown signs of concussion and is ruled out of the opening Test against England. The 30-year-old is stable and will remain under close medical observation.”

What does it mean for the India vs England series?

India and England are set to play each other in a Test series. It starts on 4th August in Nottingham, England. Mayank Agarwal is a prolific opening batsman for the Indian side. He was supposed to start the match alongside Rohit Sharma.

This is another blow to the Indian Test team as Agarwal joins the list of players who are unable to play this series due to injury. Washington Sundar, Shubman Gill, and Avesh Khan are all ruled out as well.

Even Rishabh Pant was out of the team briefly due to COVID-19. But he recovered and made his return to the training grounds last week.

It will be interesting to see who opens for India alongside Rohit Sharma in the first test match against England.
