Star Indian shuttler Sai Praneeth ended India’s 36-year long wait in the men’s single category. He won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championship is worried about getting a ‘False Positive’ before the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Arjun Awardee, Sai Praneeth is worried about getting a ‘False COVID19 Positive’ Report before the Tournament.
Some people might think of it as over-exaggerating the situation but that is not the case for Praneeth. His concern is justified as he was forced to pull out of the Thailand Open in January. Praneeth tested positive in the COVID test before the tournament and had to drop out. However, in a re-test the report was negative.
This slight inconsistency in the tests is nobody’s fault but it can cause Praneeth another International Event. The situation has become even more serious now that it is about the Olympics.
Praneeth is infamous for losing matches from winning positions. Experts say that it has something to do with him being impatient. Even Pranneth has responded to this by saying that there are situations when the executions of a move are unexpected.
He said that his coaches have also looked into this situation. Praneeth has been given specialized training in situations like 18-all or 19-all. Hopefully, he is able to bring India another International glory in the form of an Olympic medal.
