Early Life and Education: Atanu Das

Atanu Das was born on 5 April 1992.He is famous Indian archer. He did his schooling from Baranagar Narendranath Vidya mandir, Baranagar which is situated in Kolkata. He did his college at Vinayaka Missions University, Salem which is situated in Tamil Nadu & pursued a degree in B.A. (Hons). He started his journey towards a dream in 2006. He likes to listen to music, travel as well as dance in his free time

       Archery as a sport is a lot tougher than what meets the eye, as we know eye in the wrong direction can miss the chance to hit the target or goal. Every single shot is important in the sport because it is an attempt to achieving perfection as well as even when an archer hits the bull’s eye, he has to reset.

     He is a very young archer who represents India in team events as well as in recurve men’s individual. He is currently ranked on. 22 in the world. Before some days, he was being filmed by world archery for its documentary about archery.

 Professional Life: 

    Atanu Das is a promising Indian talent to started his journey towards archery at the age of 14 under the coaching of Mithu Da.in 2008. He was trained under the Korean coach Lim Chae Wong in tata Archery Academy. & he made his international debut. He fought his way to reach the quarter-finals before losing out a very tight contest against South Korea’s Seung yan Lee by 28-30, 30-28, 27-27, 27-28, 28-28.

Career highlights: 

       In 2013, he won a bronze medal in the World Cup Mixed Team event organized in Colombia along with Deepika Kumari. He had also finished 4th in the individual recurve event at the same event.

Qualifying event:

After conducting trials in Bangalore, he represent our country in the men’s recurve event at the Rio Olympics when get selected by AAI.

   In 2011, He claimed a silver medal in Men’s Team World Youth Championships, held in Legnica.

World University Championships:

   In 2014, He won a silver medal in Men’s team World University Championships, held in Legnica.

World Cup:

•He won a bronze medal in the Mixed Team event in the 2013 World Cup, held in Medellin.

2014:

•He won a silver medal in Men’s team event, held in Wroclaw.

•He claimed a silver medal in Men’s team event, held in Medellin.

•He bagged a bronze medal in the Mixes Team event, held in Medellin.

•Das won three bronze medals at the 2019 Asian Archery Championship

•In 2014, he won a silver medal in Recurve Men’s Individual by Senior National Archery Championships, held in India.

•In 2014, he won two silver medals in the men’s team event at the World Cup, held in Wroclaw and Medellin.

•In 2013, he won a bronze medal in Recurve Men’s Team by Asian Archery Grand Prix, held in Thailand.

•In 2013, he won a bronze medal in Recurve Mixed Team, Asian Archery Grand Prix, held in Thailand.

•In 2013, he won a bronze medal in Recurve Men’s Individual by Asian Archery Grand Prix, held in Thailand.

•In 2011, he bagged a gold medal in Recurve Mixed Team in 3rd Asian Grand Prix, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

•He bagged a Bronze Medallist in Recurve Men’s Team, 3rd Asian Grand Prix, held Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2011.

•In 2011, he won a Gold medal in Recurve Men’s Individual in the 3rd Asian Grand Prix, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

•In 2011, he bagged a gold medal in Recurve Men’s Team, 34th National Games, in Jamshedpur, India.

•In 2011, he won a bronze medal in Recurve Men’s Team in the 31st Sahara Senior National Archery Championships, Vijaywada, held in India.
