Ace archer Deepika Kumari has regained the World Number One ranking in the latest world rankings released after the third stage World Archery Championship held in Paris.
The 27-year-old from Ranchi, who had achieved the top spot for the first time in 2012. She first teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari. They won the women’s recurve event defeating Mexico comfortably.
She then team teamed up with her husband Antanu Das in the mixed recurve event. The couple overcame a 2-0 deficit and defeated the Dutch pair 5-3. Deepika won her second gold medal in the
World Archery Championship.
Kumari then defeated the 17th ranked Russian Elena Osipova in 3 straight sets and won her third gold at the World Archery Championship. She became the World Number One after her performance at the World Archery Championship held in Paris.
She has won a total of 28 medals at the World Archery Championships. Which include 9 golds, 12 silvers and 7 bronze.
