Samuel Umtiti  is a professional footballer. He represented the Spanish team Barcelona and the French national team on the international stage. Umtiti has achieved seven different awards in France and Spain .

Early Life

 Umtiti was born on 14 November 1993 and raised within the Cameroonian capital Yaounde by Cameroonian parents. His parents are poor which implies that they gave their son away.

 Umtiti shifted to France. He raised in an exceedingly large family of Cameroonian immigrants. He was a part of the wave of black immigrant children enrolling in football academies across France. They succeed because of the immigrant-filled French team of 1998 and helped to attain France’s first-ever world championship title.


 Samuel Umtiti participate in Lyon-based Menival FC and began honing his footballing skills. At the age of eight, after a series of wonderful performances the eye of the Scouts noticed him. He shifted to the Academy of Ligue 1 club in Lyon, where he appointed as a striker. After some years, Umtiti shifted to the midfielder before finalize as defenser.

He made his professional debut within the senior side on 8 January 2012, in a very Coupe de France match against local rivals Lyon-Duchere where his team won the match.

A few days later, he made his debut in Ligue 1 against Montpellier. He played a complete of 18 appearances altogether the competitions of the season. He won “best player of the season” by his team’s fans within the 2015-16 season and beated players like Alexandre Lacazette.

 His  debut is within the return leg of the Supercopa de España 2016. there Barcelona won to present him together with his first trophy with the team. He then established himself because the first-team defender alongside Gerard Pique, beating Javier Mascherano and Thomas Vermaelen. Samuel Umtiti has made 83 appearances for Barcelona up to now, scoring two goals within the process.

 International Career

 He started off with the youth teams, particularly winning the FIFA U-20 tourney, before moving on to the senior side. He then joined the squad that finished runners-up at the 2016 European Championship before becoming a permanent fixture within the team. In 2018, Umtiti was one amongst the primary names written down by Didier Deschamps, manager of Les Bleus, to be appointed to the squad for the planet Cup. At the time of writing, Umtiti has made 24 senior appearances for France, scoring three goals, one in all which ensured his team’s place within the 2018 FIFA tourney Final.
