The series between Sri Lanka and India has been rescheduled and is set to start from the 18th of July 2021.
After the news of 2 support staff members being tested positive for the virus on their arrival from England, the covid test result of all the players came negative. The players were allowed to move out of their room for practice after the reports came negative.
SRI LANKAN PLAYERS TEST NEGITIVE
The support staff was still not allowed to move freely in the bubble as they were in close proximity with the batting coach and the video analyst of the Sri Lankan team, who tested positive.
This was a relief for the Sri Lankan board as it reduced the covid scarce of the tour. The Indian team is already in the bio bubble and has been practicing since a few days now.
The wait for the series increased for the team as the covid situation in the Lankan camp wasn’t very good. But, finally, some relief came when the Sri Lankan board announced fresh dates for the tour and assured the BCCI about the condition is under control.
The players are all set for the series to start as we could see a lot of new players making their debut in this tour for India. It will be interesting to see which young player manages to leave a mark in this series.
With the WT20 on the cards and a lot of spots up for grabs in the Indian squad, it will be interesting to see who capitalize on the chances given.
